What is Tadagra Strong
Tadagra Strong is a brand that contains tadalafil, a prescription phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). Some prescribers may also use tadalafil for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) symptoms and, in specific formulations such as Adcirca, for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Sexual arousal is required for tadalafil to work.
Available strength listed for this product: 40 mg oral tablets.
Related health areas: men's health, erectile function, cardiovascular considerations including blood pressure.
How tadalafil works
Tadalafil blocks the PDE5 enzyme in penile tissue, allowing cyclic GMP to remain active longer. This relaxes smooth muscle and opens blood vessels so more blood can flow into the penis during sexual stimulation, helping you get and keep an erection. It may also relax smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder neck, which can improve lower urinary tract symptoms related to BPH. In PAH, it reduces pulmonary vascular resistance.

Dosage and directions
Always follow your prescriber's instructions, which may differ from the general guidance below.
- Take the tablet whole with water; do not crush, split, or chew.
- On-demand use for ED is typically taken about 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. It can work for up to 36 hours in many individuals.
- May be taken with or without food. A very high-fat meal can delay onset.
- Do not exceed one dose in a 24-hour period.
- Some patients use lower once-daily tadalafil doses for ongoing benefit; your clinician will decide if daily dosing is right for you.
Note: 40 mg is a higher strength than commonly prescribed for on-demand ED in the USA (often 10 to 20 mg). Your prescriber may adjust the dose based on tolerance, other medical conditions, and concomitant medications.
Missed dose info is below.
Precautions and suitability
Before starting tadalafil, tell your healthcare provider about your complete medical history and all medications you take. Special care is needed if you have any of the following:
- Kidney or liver impairment, or if you are on dialysis.
- History of stroke, recent heart attack, or significant heart rhythm problems.
- Angina, coronary artery disease, or conditions where sexual activity is not advised.
- Very high or very low blood pressure, or pulmonary hypertension not treated with tadalafil.
- Retinitis pigmentosa or prior sudden vision loss in one or both eyes.
- Blood cell disorders such as sickle cell disease, multiple myeloma, or leukemia.
- Bleeding disorders or active peptic ulcer disease.
- Penile anatomical deformity (such as Peyronie’s disease) or a history of priapism.
Limit alcohol use. Heavy drinking increases the risk of dizziness and low blood pressure, and can worsen ED.
Contraindications and do-not-combine
Do not use Tadagra Strong if you have a known allergy to tadalafil or any tablet component.
Avoid the following combinations due to the risk of dangerous blood pressure drops or other serious effects:
- Nitrates for chest pain or heart disease (for example, nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, or isosorbide mononitrate). Recreational nitrites like amyl nitrite or nitrite poppers are also unsafe.
- Soluble guanylate cyclase stimulators such as riociguat.
- Large amounts of alcohol and grapefruit or grapefruit juice, which can boost tadalafil levels or increase side effects.
Caution is advised with alpha-blockers and other blood pressure drugs; your prescriber may start at a lower dose and monitor your blood pressure.
Drug and food interactions
Tell your clinician about all medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Important interaction groups include:
- Antibiotics or antifungals that affect CYP3A4 (for example, clarithromycin, erythromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole) can raise tadalafil levels.
- Antiretrovirals and hepatitis C antivirals (for example, ritonavir, cobicistat, certain DAAs) may increase effects.
- Seizure medications and CYP3A4 inducers (for example, carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital, rifampin, St. John's wort) may reduce effectiveness.
- Other ED medications or PAH agents can compound effects and are typically not combined.
- Antihypertensives and alpha-blockers may add to blood pressure lowering.
Grapefruit products can meaningfully increase tadalafil exposure and should be avoided. Food in general is acceptable.
Possible side effects
Many effects are mild and brief. Contact a clinician if they persist or worsen.
- Headache or flushing.
- Stuffy or runny nose.
- Indigestion, nausea, or stomach upset.
- Back, arm, or muscle aches.
- Dizziness.
Serious reactions are uncommon but need urgent care: chest pain, fainting, an erection lasting more than 4 hours, sudden vision or hearing loss, or signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, swelling, or trouble breathing.
Missed dose and overdose
If you use tadalafil only when needed for sexual activity, there is no routine schedule. If you are on daily tadalafil and miss a dose, take it when remembered unless it is close to the next dose. Do not double up.
In case of suspected overdose, seek emergency help or contact Poison Control in the United States at 1-800-222-1222.
Storage
Store at room temperature in a dry place away from heat and moisture. Keep tablets in the original container and out of reach of children and pets.
Alternatives and similar medications
If tadalafil is not suitable or not effective, other PDE5 inhibitors may be considered. Talk to your prescriber about the best option for your health profile, timing needs, and budget:
- Avanafil (brand Stendra) - tends to have a fast onset; availability of generics may be limited in the USA.
- Sildenafil (brand Viagra; many generics) - often used at 25 to 100 mg doses; shorter duration of action than tadalafil.
- Vardenafil (brand Levitra or Staxyn ODT; some generics) - similar onset and duration to sildenafil.
- Tadalafil generics and brand Cialis - same active ingredient as Tadagra Strong; available in 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg strengths commonly in the USA.
Non-PDE5 options for certain patients include vacuum erection devices, urethral or injectable alprostadil, testosterone replacement when clinically indicated, and psychotherapy for psychogenic ED. These require medical evaluation.

Note: Tadagra Strong is not an FDA-approved US brand. US-licensed pharmacies typically dispense FDA-approved tadalafil products. Import prices advertised online may look lower, but see US legal considerations before attempting to buy from abroad.
Legal status in the United States
Key points for US consumers:
- Tadalafil for ED and BPH is a prescription-only medication in the USA. You need a valid prescription from a US-licensed clinician to obtain it legally.
- FDA approval: Tadalafil is FDA-approved for ED and BPH (Cialis) and for PAH under specific branding (Adcirca). Products not approved by the FDA, including some foreign-labeled brands, are generally not legal to market or sell in the USA.
- Online pharmacies must be US-licensed. Check credentials through state boards of pharmacy or the NABP programs (for example, the .pharmacy domain or NABP-accredited lists). Avoid sites that offer prescription drugs without a prescription.
- Personal importation: As a rule, importing prescription drugs from outside the USA is prohibited, with only very narrow discretionary exceptions. Shipments may be refused or seized by Customs and Border Protection. Even if received, possessing non-FDA-approved versions can pose legal and safety risks.
- Telehealth: Many states allow telemedicine prescribing of PDE5 inhibitors after an appropriate evaluation. Age minimum is 18 in most programs.
- Driving and safety: Tadalafil is not a controlled substance, but it can cause dizziness or vision changes. Use caution when driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.
