Quick facts: Active ingredient - Sildenafil; Primary use - Erectile dysfunction (ED); Typical strength offered here - 150 mg tablet.

What P-Force Fort Is and How It Works

P-Force Fort is an erectile dysfunction treatment that contains sildenafil citrate, a PDE5 inhibitor. By relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow to penile tissue during sexual arousal, it helps men achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for intercourse.

This medicine is intended for adults diagnosed with ED. It does not increase sexual desire and does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.

How to Take P-Force Fort

Always follow your prescriber's directions. The 150 mg strength is a higher dose than standard U.S. starting doses of sildenafil (commonly 25 mg, 50 mg, or 100 mg). Your clinician may recommend a lower dose depending on your health and response.

  • Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew.
  • Take one dose about 30 to 60 minutes before planned sexual activity.
  • Use no more than one tablet in 24 hours.
  • Food: It can be taken with or without food. A high-fat meal may delay onset; empty stomach often works faster.
  • Take only as needed, not on a fixed daily schedule unless advised.

If erections last more than 4 hours, seek emergency care to prevent long-term injury.

Safety Precautions

Share your full medical history and medication list with your healthcare professional before starting sildenafil.

  • Avoid excessive alcohol; it can worsen dizziness and reduce the chance of a firm erection.
  • Do not use for bodybuilding or athletic enhancement; it is not intended for performance outside sexual function.
  • Use caution if you have heart, kidney, or liver disease, or if you are prone to low blood pressure.
  • Stop and get medical help for chest pain, sudden vision loss, or sudden hearing loss.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel faint, dizzy, or have blurred vision.

Who Should Not Take It (Contraindications)

  • Use of any nitrates or nitric oxide donors (for example, nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate/mononitrate) due to risk of severe hypotension.
  • Concurrent riociguat therapy.
  • Recent heart attack or stroke (your clinician must clear you for sexual activity first).
  • Severe low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure.
  • Serious liver impairment or significant kidney disease without medical supervision.

Possible Side Effects

Most effects are mild and short-lived. Seek urgent care for signs of allergy such as wheezing, hives, or swelling of lips, tongue, face, or throat.

  • Headache or facial flushing
  • Nasal congestion or runny nose
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Back, arm, or leg muscle aches
  • Ringing in the ears

Adhering to the prescribed dose reduces the chance of side effects. Report persistent or severe symptoms to your healthcare provider promptly.

Drug and Food Interactions

Some combinations can dangerously lower blood pressure or increase side effects. Tell your clinician about all medicines and supplements.

  • Nitrates and nitrites (nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate/mononitrate) - contraindicated.
  • Riociguat - contraindicated.
  • Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (ketoconazole, itraconazole, erythromycin, clarithromycin, ritonavir, atazanavir, grapefruit or grapefruit juice) may raise sildenafil levels.
  • Alpha-blockers or other antihypertensives can add to blood pressure lowering; dose adjustments and spacing may be required.
  • Other ED medicines (tadalafil, vardenafil, avanafil) should not be combined with sildenafil.
  • Cimetidine may increase sildenafil concentrations; alternatives are preferred.

Similar Medicines and Alternatives

Several ED treatments work similarly but differ in onset, duration, and side effect profiles. Discuss with your clinician which option fits your health status and lifestyle.

  • Tadalafil (Cialis, generic): Longer duration (up to 36 hours), suitable for once-daily low-dose regimens or as needed; slower onset for some users.
  • Vardenafil (Levitra, generic; Staxyn ODT): Comparable onset to sildenafil, may have slightly different side effect profile. Staxyn is an orally disintegrating tablet.
  • Avanafil (Stendra): Faster onset in many users (as early as 15 minutes), shorter duration than tadalafil.
  • Sildenafil generics (25 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg): FDA-approved strengths commonly used in the USA; many start with 50 mg and adjust.

Non-oral options for specific patients (discuss with a urologist): alprostadil intraurethral suppository or injection, vacuum erection devices, and psychosexual counseling when appropriate.
